Strawberries are now in season in many markets. Serve this as dessert or remove the liqueur and make it into a healthy breakfast.

Ingredients

3 c Stonyfield Organic Low Fat Plain Yogurt (to yield 1 cup yogurt cheese*)
1/4 c light brown sugar
2 T orange liqueur
1 t vanilla
1/2 t cinnamon
2 pt Strawberries (hulled and sliced)
2 T pecans (toasted, for garnish)

Preparation:

Step 1

*For Yogurt Cheese: Using a yogurt cheese maker or layered cheese cloth, strain the whey from 3 cups of yogurt for 3-6 hours in the refrigerator. This should yield 1 cup of yogurt cheese.

Step 2

Clean, hull and slice strawberries and set aside.

Step 3

To make the sauce, combine yogurt cheese, brown sugar, orange liqueur, vanilla and cinnamon and let sit for one hour.

Step 4

To serve, layer sliced strawberries and sauce into wine glasses.

Step 5

Serve chilled.
